Earl Nightingale

Earl Nightingale (March 12, 1921 - March 25, 1989) was, in my opinion, one of the great American motivational speakers and authors, known as the “Dean of Personal Development.”

Lead the Field” is a series of six discs comprised of mp3 audio tracks for 12 separate sessions.

The following has been taken from the Nightingale-Conant web-site:

“Hundreds of thousands of people have profited from the wisdom and savvy of Lead the Field!

In fact, it has often been referred to as the “Program of Presidents” because so many top executives have incorporated Earl’s guidance and wisdom into their management philosophies.

When you listen to this landmark program you’ll be awestruck by the simplicity and timelessness of Earl’s words and ideas.

  • Double your mental capability
  • Recognize and easily overcome the biggest stumbling block to high achievement
  • Dramatically improve your luck by changing one simple thing
  • Make success unavoidable with an easy 3-minute-a-day exercise
  • Assess your potential worth, and start increasing it now

Lead the Field has arguably changed more lives and created more millionaires than any other program Nightingale-Conant has produced.”

The “Lead the Field” audio series constitutes a wealth of Earl Nightingale’s wisdom and can be played over and over again. In addition, several of his videos are available on YouTube, including The Strangest Secretand The Boss, and are well worth watching as well.

Background

Theory and Interventions

Positive Psychology is a relatively new field in psychology, having been founded about 10 years ago, which has, as one of its study projects, research into what makes us “happy”. As with other research in psychology, it is highly subjective as it is based upon studies into peoples responses as to how they are feeling. We have all had days in which we weren’t quite sure how we felt and so you can imagine some of the difficulties encountered in this research. Having said that, however, many methods have been developed so as to gain insight and quantify information within the subjective field of psychology. » Read the rest of the entry..

I recently came across an article summarizing research into the “Science” of Gratitude and Happiness.

As a result of my many years of personal research, I believe that gratitude and happiness are important and intuitively acknowledged there was value in having a “Positive Mental Attitude” and “An Attitude of Gratitude” » Read the rest of the entry..

Charles Haanel’s THE MASTER KEY SYSTEM represents of the first, if not the first, book released under the “New Thought” genre. It is the compilation of a 24 part correspondence course delivered on a weekly basis to a wealthy clientele. The material was subsequently compiled and released to the general public as a book in 1919.

A brief biography of Charles Haanel is available on this site at “Charles Haanel“, and a comprehensive summary of the material contained within THE MASTER KEY SYSTEM can be found at the upper left of that same page.

This and many other classic books in the “Personal Development” genre are available on the Integrated Success Program web-site.

In this YouTube video, Napoleon Hill briefly describes a meeting with Andrew Carnegie which began his 20+ year analysis of many of the wealthy men at the turn of the 20th century. Napoleon Hill’s work resulted in his personal success philosophy as presented in his joint works “The Law of Success” and “Think and Grow Rich”. » Read the rest of the entry..
