Fetch My Future is a short, easy to read text introducing the sub-conscious mind and how to successfully and consciously access it. It has an interesting layout, with instructional text on the right side of the book, while the left side of the page has inspirational quotes at the top and bottom of the page. In addition, located at the middle of the left hand page is a brief summary of the material to the right. This organizational layout makes it easy to locate a particular section of text being sought.

In addition to an easy layout, the material is presented by analogy to a dog, specifically a pet dog, eager to act on your instructions so as to please you. The sub-conscious mind is very literal and, therefore, your instructions must be simple and straightforward, which is exactly the manner in which you would provide instructions to your dog.

Fetch My Future, available in both hard copy and ebook (for download) versions, is 134 pages in length and has a detailed Table of Contents to facilitate locating the specific text or concept in which you are interested. The authors (Dorien and Rineke Forster) are a Mother - Daughter team based in New Zealand and are both NLP practitioners. Dorien Forster is a wealth educator and Rineke Forster is a top trainer for Real Estate Investing and business in New Zealand.

In a previous post, I introduced the Sub-conscious mind from a scientific perspective, including the various levels of brain waves states, which have been generally correlated to differing levels of mental awareness, from Alpha through Gamma. Briefly, Beta is the state of full awareness or consciousness, with Alpha a state of heightened awareness and creativity. Gamma is associated with higher mental activity, as well as rapid eye movement (REM). Theta is associated with drowsiness and light sleep while Delta is associated with deep sleep.

The mind, itself, has been separated into three states, the conscious, sub-conscious and autonomic. Everyone is familiar with the conscious state (although it has proven to be extremely difficult to define) and the autonomic state (or more accurately, the autonomic system) is responsible for the automatic functions of the body (heart rate, digestion, circulation, etc).

The sub-conscious state is the focus of Fetch My Future and the process of consciously passing instructions to the sub-conscious, a process I prefer to call mental programming. The analogy of the sub-conscious mind being similar to a computer is very powerful. A computer has tremendous potential for processing and storing data, however, it is useless without an operating language to provide basic operational capability. This information needs to be programmed into the computer to enable the functionality. Furthermore, specific software packages must also be installed (each of which has been individually programmed) to enable very powerful and highly specific functions and abilities inherent to the computer. For example, one must install Word or WordPerfect in order to have access to these very powerful word processing packages. One might desire SPSS to enable access to a very powerful statistical analysis package. These examples of very powerful functionality available through a computer are not available through the operating system and have been programmed and installed separately.

To take the analogy even further, this high level of functionality is made available through programming code. Although the specifics of code can be complicated and complex, it ultimately reduces to a binary code, a series of “1″’s and “0″’s representing an electronic “switch” being either “On” or “Off”. How much simpler can it get?

In Fetch My Future, the “code” is similarly basic, analogous to “Sit” or “Fetch the Ball”. One would not tell a dog to get the ball from under the car and take it to the front porch, from where your spouse will throw it next. These instructions would be far too complex.

Your life is the mirror of your mind and, therefore, the instructions you have provided, whether consciously or unconsciously, have provided the outcome for your life to date. At this point, the analogy of a garden can be applied. If you are not consciously managing and monitoring the instructions input to, and originating from, your mind, it is analogous to a garden filled with weeds. Whatever happens to blow into your garden (or has been input into your mind), will take root and grow. However, if you actively monitor your mind, it can be likened to a beautiful garden filled with flowers, or vegetables or anything else. It has been well thought out, well cared for and carefully nurtured so as to produce as desired result. In computer slang, “Garbage In, Garbage Out”.

Whether your life is a success or an utter mess, your sub-conscious is working perfectly.

“Your mind, like a dog, is doing exactly what it is supposed to. It is fetching for you exactly what you have been focussing on and turning those thoughts into a fact in your life! Well Done!”

If your life is not what you desire, consider actively programming it using a “FOCUS - FETCH - FACT” approach. What is the change you desire? How might you bring it into your life? What actions should you take to make it a fact in your life? This forms the basis of Fetch My Future.

“If your dog was not doing what you wanted it to do, you would try again and again until you found a way that you and the dog could communicate more clearly”.

Fetch My Future serves as a great initial introduction for understanding and taking control of your sub-conscious mind for YOUR benefit. With this new understanding in hand, you are then ready to explore the myriad of methods available for consciously and actively programming your mind.
